Counselling Glasgow – Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to have a specific problem to come for counselling?
No. Feelings of dissatisfaction, indecision, confusion and self-doubt are just some of the issues that can be explored through counselling. Changes in lifestyle, income and so on can leave one feeling unsure and at times, rudderless.Counselling can help you refocus and identify personal goals.
Do you have evening appointments?
Yes. I can offer afternoon and evening appointment times.
Do I have to seek my doctor’s consent to come to the practice?
No. Your doctor may have recommended counselling to you but is perfectly acceptable for you to refer yourself.
What do I do if I need emergency counselling?
I can usually offer you an appointment within a day or two. If you feel you need to speak to someone more urgently, The Samaritans are there to offer support 24 hours a day. Samaritans Tel 08457 90 90 90
How much does it cost?
Sessions are £45 or £120 for a block of three. You can decide on this at the end of a session.
Where are you?
I work from 34 West George Street. The easiest way to find it is to walk from Buchanan Street Underground Station to Queen’s Street Station and it is the last entrance on the left. I will meet you at your apppointment time on the 6th floor waiting room for the Consulting Rooms.
How long does treatment last?
It depends on many variables. You can come for as long as you feel you need, or want to. I can offer guidelines once we have had the initial session but ultimately, you are in control.
